Free / Starter Trial
Does the Free plan include Starter membership?
No. The Free plan is not the same as a Starter membership. New users receive a 48-hour Starter trial after signing up. When the trial ends, the account automatically returns to the Free plan unless upgraded.
When does the 48-hour Starter trial begin?
It begins at the exact time your account is created and lasts for 48 hours. It is not calculated by calendar days.
When do I receive the extra 48 hours from inviting a friend?
Your friend must sign up through your invitation link, create a profile, and complete their BBTI result. Then you receive another 48 hours of Starter access and both of you unlock a BBTI match summary.
Can I view full reports during the trial?
The trial provides partial access rather than the full paid report. The BBTI report unlocks around 20% of the full interpretation. The Planetary Structure Lite report keeps the introduction free to view, and readable content inside the report follows your current membership benefits; during the Starter trial, parts of the seven content cards are previewable.
Can I extend the trial indefinitely through invitations?
No. Each account can receive up to 14 total Starter trial days, including the signup 48 hours. A friend only signing up is not enough; they must register, create a profile, and complete BBTI.
General
What is Astrowl?
Astrowl is an AI-powered professional astrology tool offering natal chart readings, transit tracking, daily forecasts, and primary directions. It uses Swiss Ephemeris for astronomical precision.
Do I need an exact birth time?
Yes — birth time affects the Ascendant and house cusps. Recommend within ±5 minutes. If unsure, use noon as a reference, but note that houses and the Ascendant may be inaccurate.
Birth time directly determines the Ascendant position and house boundaries. Even without an exact time, you can still access meaningful planetary-level readings.
Which house systems are supported?
Astrowl currently supports Whole Sign and Placidus — the two most widely used mainstream systems in astrology. Both are freely switchable in your profile.
They cover the core interpretation needs for personality structure and life themes. The dual-perspective presentation offers both structural clarity and layered nuance.
Why does Astrowl only use Whole Sign and Placidus?
This is an intentional product choice, aimed at helping users first establish a clear and stable reading entry point.
Astrology does have many other house systems — Equal House, Porphyry, Campanus, Regiomontanus — each with its own school of thought. But more house systems don't mean more accurate readings. For most users, being presented with multiple versions at once makes it harder to maintain interpretive focus.
Whole Sign helps you see the main structural framework; Placidus helps you explore individual nuance. Together, these two perspectives are already sufficient to support a layered, complete understanding.
We prioritize helping you read clearly first, then read deeply.
What's the difference between Whole Sign and Placidus?
Simply put: Whole Sign is better for viewing the overall structure; Placidus is better for individual nuance.
Whole Sign uses complete zodiac signs as house units — the main lines are clear and the house skeleton is immediately obvious. Placidus precisely divides house cusps based on birth time and location, so boundaries vary from person to person and feel more individualized. Astrowl presents both perspectives simultaneously, giving your reading both structure and depth.
Will more house systems be added?
We'll continue evaluating, but the prerequisite for adding new content is being "more helpful for understanding" — not simply adding more options.
Astrowl's core principle: anything we add should genuinely serve the user's understanding, not be stacked with the goal of "more complete features."
Data & Privacy
Is my data safe?
All birth data is encrypted on secure servers. Astronomical calculations are done server-side. We do not share personal information with third parties.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete any profile from the profile manager at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data.
Where is my data stored?
Data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Ephemeris files are stored locally on the server and contain no user information.
Features
What's the difference between transits and primary directions?
Transits observe actual planetary positions in the sky relative to your natal chart. Primary Directions are a mathematical projection based on birth-moment equatorial coordinates —roughly 1° per year — reflecting deeper life rhythms.
How is the fortune score calculated?
The AI model scores based on transit aspects to your natal chart, moon position, retrograde states, and other multi-dimensional signals. Range: 0–100.
What is the Moon void-of-course period?
The period when the Moon makes no more exact major aspects before leaving its current sign. Traditional astrology advises against starting major decisions or signing contracts during this time.
Which asteroids are included?
Chiron, Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, Eros, Psyche and other major asteroids, plus the North Node, South Node, and Part of Fortune.
Billing
What are the free plan limits?
Free users can create 1 profile and use basic chart tools. Transit readings and multiple profiles require a Starter plan or above.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. After cancellation, all subscription features remain active until the end of the billing period, then the account reverts to Free.
What payment methods are supported?
We currently support major credit cards and Link payments, all secured by Stripe.
