Our Commitment
Astrowl is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to ensure that everyone can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Service effectively.
Standards We Follow
We work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are widely accepted as the international standard for web accessibility.
What We Do
Our efforts include:
- Semantic HTML — we use proper HTML elements (
<nav>,<main>,<footer>,<button>,<label>) to ensure content is well-structured for assistive technologies. - Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, modals) are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible.
- ARIA attributes — we use ARIA roles, labels, and properties where semantic HTML alone is insufficient, such as in modal dialogs and dynamic content.
- Color contrast — we aim to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements in both light and dark modes.
- Focus management — modal dialogs implement focus trapping, and focus is returned to the trigger element when dialogs are closed.
- Form accessibility — form fields have associated labels, error messages are linked to their respective fields using
aria-describedby, and validation errors userole="alert". - Responsive design — the Service is designed to work across different screen sizes and viewport widths.
- System preferences — we respect your operating system's color scheme preference (light or dark mode).
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure broad accessibility, some areas of the Service may have limitations:
- Astrological chart visualizations — some chart graphics may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text-based data alongside visual charts where possible.
- Third-party components — payment forms provided by Stripe have their own accessibility characteristics that are outside our direct control.
We are actively working to identify and address accessibility gaps.
